As the session starts, the practitioner will guide you through a short breathing or relaxation exercise to help you enter a calm state. They will then focus on channeling Reiki to you, working through each of the major chakras (energy centers) and intuitively sensing where imbalances may lie. You may hear the practitioner gently describing which chakra or issue they are focusing on, or the session may be largely quiet – every practitioner has a slightly different style. During the session: you will be asked to close your eyes, breathe deeply, and relax. In a remote session, you may hear the practitioner’s voice occasionally guiding you or calling out which chakra they’re working on, but they may also be silent for much of the process. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure what to do – you actually don’t need to “do” anything except relax and be open.
